Dodes
#1 : Dodes - Champagny-en-Vanoise

Explore this lovely route, accessible on foot or with snowshoes, starting from Champagny le Bas. From the "Planay," follow a forest trail and cross meadows to the "DĂ´des" chalet. After crossing the "Bois" ski slope, head to the "Traye" hamlet and follow the ski slope to the cable car station. Easy and short, it offers great views of Champagny le Bas, perfect for beginners.

#2 Sur les traces de Sorlinette - Sentier ludo-Ă©ducatif

Discover the Beaufort production process with Sorlinette, your mascot, on this fun and educational trail. Starting from the Plan du Moulin parking, follow the signs to the Fromagerie Coopérative Laitière of the Vallée des Arves. Don't forget your camera! During the season, join the contest by solving clues on the panels for a chance to win small prizes. This easy 1.2 km route takes you through alpine meadows and introduces you to the making of the famous Beaufort cheese.

Glieres
#3 Plateau des Glières - Boucle du Plan des Mouilles

This 3.7 km loop (150 m ascent) takes you through forests and meadows. From the cross-country ski center, follow the summer trail southeast towards Montagne des Auges, reaching Plan des Mouilles at 1544 m. Be careful crossing the ski tracks. From here, enjoy views of Montagne des FrĂŞtes, the Three TĂŞtes, and Parmelan. Head towards the alpine chalet at Mouilles, then descend to Paccot. Finish by following the pedestrian track back to the center.

LacPres
#4 Lac du Pré des Preys - Vercors

Accessible and peaceful, the Lac du Pré des Preys beautifully reflects the surrounding landscape. It is a hill reservoir used to supply snow cannons during the winter. The moderate 4.3 km snowshoeing route starts from the Clots parking lot, following the path through La Fauge before ascending towards Combe Charbonnière. You will reach the lake after crossing a picturesque valley. The hike lasts about 3 hours.

Megeve
#5: Col du Jaillet

The snowshoeing route from Jaillet supérieur to Col du Jaillet offers a lovely walk through varied landscapes, including forests, woodlands, and alpine meadows. Starting from the top station of the Jaillet gondola, the ascent provides stunning views of the Mont Blanc range, the Aravis mountains, and the village of Megève below. After about 200 meters, a detour along a forest path leads to Col du Jaillet, before returning by the same route for a pleasant and accessible hike.

 

Berouze
#6 Le Bérouze – Mathonex – Vigny

This easy 3-hour loop, with a 110 m elevation gain, starts in the center of Samoëns at Place du Bérouze. It takes you slightly above the village, offering beautiful views over the valley. The route combines small paths and roads, providing an immersive journey through the local life and traditions. Along the way, you’ll pass chapels, wayside crosses, old chalets, and the Clos du Parchet Eco-Museum. A cemetery dating back to the 6th century will also pique your interest. A delightful walk that blends nature with history for a step back in time.

Posettes
#7 l'Aiguillette des Posettes

This snowshoeing route in the heart of the Mont-Blanc valley leads to the summit of Domaine du Tour via a panoramic and wild path. Starting from the top of the Vallorcine gondola, the trail winds through the forest with stunning views of Mont Blanc and the Aiguilles Rouges. At the summit, you can also enjoy views of the Emosson Dam. The descent follows the ski slopes, so stay on the side of the pistes. This moderate hike requires good experience in snowy mountain terrain and proper safety equipment (AVD, shovel, probe).

 

RefugePres
#8 Refuge des Prés (Les Contamines-Montjoie)

From the Notre-Dame-de-la-Gorge parking, follow the old Roman road through the forest towards Col du Bonhomme. The Refuge des Prés is 2h25 away. After 30 minutes, you’ll pass a Roman bridge and waterfall, then continue to the chalets des Prés at 1800m. With 45 more minutes to reach the refuge at 1935m. The route is unmarked, and beginners are advised to contact the Compagnie des Guides. Return by the same route, or loop via the La Balme chalet if snow conditions allow. Total distance: 10.8 km round trip.
